Rutherford SWISH!

Rutherford ‘SWISH’ – next one on Wed 28th November!

On Wednesday 28th November 12:30-1:30 The Rutherford Green Impact Team will be running their next SWISH event. Bring your unwanted clothes and swap with others! Admission £2 if you bring items, £3 if you do not, proceeds to Cornerstone Day Centre.

All clothing welcome! They have two themes for this SWISH – ‘children’s prom clothes’ and ‘winter warmers’.

Leftover clothes that are not swished will go to Cornerstone, who support homeless and vulnerable adults in our community http://www.cornerstonecds.org.uk/get-involved.

All children’s prom clothes will go to ‘2nd Handmade Shop’, which is a pre-loved shop run by sixth form students at North Ridge High School. They are collecting prom clothes which they will loan out at a small cost to families of pupils who can’t afford to buy a prom dress or suit. http://nrhs.mancd.com/second-hand-shop/.

Each SWISH event promotes reusing, recycling and upcycling; encouraging colleagues to bring and swap items to update their seasonal wardrobes.

This will take place in the Rutherford Building, in the Rutherford room – please do share with colleagues. They also have a Facebook group now – please join here to receive updates: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1797812380248936/.

If you have any suggestions for future themes, please do also get in touch with them: rutherford-greenimpact@manchester.ac.uk.
